Having been a DJ since the early nineties when the rave and techno scene exploded in the United States, Robtronik has accumulated a vast and deep selection of music that cuts across all dance music genres. He is deeply committed to the culture and the DIY ethic of the electronic dance music community. He has been honored to play for <b>Giant, Spundae, Godskitchen, Avalon</b> as well as <b>Insomniac, Space Island</b>, and his favorite intimate spot in Santa Monica, <b>The Mor Bar</b>.<br /><br />Beginning as a weekly in May of 2002, <b>Boom Box</b> helped keep breakbeat a focus for southern California club culture by highlighting internationally known artists such as <b>Lee Coombs, Mechanoise, Uberzone, The Crystal Method, Simply Jeff, Atomic Hooligan, SOTO, Elite Force, B.L.I.M.</b>, and many more. Currently, Robtronik is pursuing the sounds of techno, electro, and breaks with his newest club <b>Compression</b> that has featured <b>Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Egyptian Lover, Arabian Prince, Tipper, Kenny Larkin, Daniel Bell, John Tejada, Mathew Jonson, & Joel Mull</b> already in less than a year. <br /><br />As <b>Director of U.S. Markets for Propellerhead Software, Inc.</b>, the U.S. based arm for the Swedish based Propellerheads, Robtronik (aka Robert Pointer) helps spread the word and music culture of the company that makes the immensely innovative and popular music software solutions Reason & Recycle (amongst other things).<br /><br />You can catch Robtronik on <b>Indie 103.1 FM on Friday nights with the The Crystal Method</b> on their show, <b>Community Service</b> highlighting the best in dance music from 10:00 p.m. to midnight.
